Savan is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence/Data Warehouse Specialist to lead a data integration and analytics modernization effort in support of the National Park Service (NPS). This senior-level role will design and implement scalable geospatial and alphanumeric data lakes and warehouses, automate ETL/ELT pipelines, and deliver actionable business intelligence products—such as Power BI dashboards and ArcGIS web maps—to support self-service analytics and resource vulnerability assessments across the enterprise.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience with both traditional and modern data architectures, a strong understanding of spatial data systems, and the ability to translate user needs into integrated, sustainable solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of an enterprise data integration strategy, including lifecycle planning and phased execution.
- Conduct data discovery with source system owners and identify priority geospatial and tabular datasets.
- Design and implement logical and physical data models (e.g., star/snowflake schemas, spatial models) and integration architecture.
- Build and manage cloud/hybrid data lakes and warehouses using SQL Server, PostgreSQL/PostGIS, and Azure Data Lake/Storage.
- Automate ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory, SSIS, and Python; document workflows and metadata.
- Prototype and publish dashboards, maps, and services using Power BI, ArcGIS Online, and REST APIs.
- Define and enforce metadata and data quality standards; monitor KPIs and address data quality issues.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to BI and mapping platforms based on evolving needs and technologies.
- Coordinate with NISC developers, DBAs, and data governance staff to ensure alignment on standards, security, and compliance.
- Support stakeholder communication through milestone briefings, risk assessments, and demonstrations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5–10 years of experience building enterprise-scale data warehouses, including geospatial components.
- Proven experience delivering dashboards, reports, and visualizations from aggregated data sources.
- Proficiency in data warehousing tools and platforms (SQL Server, PostgreSQL/PostGIS, Azure, etc.).
- Experience with Modern Data Stack concepts and spatial data warehousing approaches.
- Strong background in data integration, ETL/ELT processes, and BI/reporting tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, GIS, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Preferred Certifications:
- Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP-203)
- Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP – Data Integration track)
- Esri Enterprise Geodata Management Professional
