Savan is seeking a Senior FOIA Analyst/Team Lead to support a federal agency program facing a significant backlog in outstanding FOIA requests. The agency provides public-facing services through grants and direct aid that often prompt FOIA requests.

Role Responsibilities:
- Provide responses to FOIA and Privacy Act requests.
- Support FOIA-related data management, including data entry, workload tracking, and backlog analysis.
- Manage the receipt, distribution, and tracking of incoming FOIA requests.
- Provide written/oral responses to inquiries regarding FOIA from other public sector stakeholders.
- Draft correspondence in support of FOIA/Privacy Act actions into the agency-specific tool for workflow management and tracking.
- Review all information generated in response to FOIA requests/appeals and redact any information that is exempted under the FOIA or must be withheld in accordance with the Privacy Act
- Ensure all final responses received for FOIA requests are entered into the relevant tracking system.
- Support program office compliance with agency FOIA policies and processes.
- BA/BS degree preferred, minimum 5 years FOIA experience or 8 years of relevant experience required.
- One year of on-site supervisory experience of FOIA processing
- Expertise in FOIA processing, including responding to appeals.
- Experience using automated tools, such as MS Office and FOIA Xpress.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to interact independently with government clients and stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to remain current with evolving policies, guidance, standards, and trends for FOIA and the Privacy Act.
- Federal consulting experience
- Process improvement experience that can help identify possible improvements in the FOIA/Privacy Act transaction process to help reduce backlogs.
